Can aroma therapy and fragrances cause cancer?

Passive smoking causes lung cancer and petrol sniffing causes social problems. What about aroma therapy, use of air freshener and insect spray? Just because aroma therapy and air fresheners use perfumes and nice fragrances, does not mean that it is good for health. If insect spray can kill insects, surely it can have some adverse effects on our body cells!

People embrace this new age fad and technology to replace the unpleasant cigarette smoke and petrol are far too naive to say the least. These people never question whether the frangrances can cause cancer or may be addictive. Most of the fragrances are complex compounds produced artificially in the laboratories. The long term effect of inhaling these complex chemical compounds has not been studied or investigated.

If you are rational enough, concerning about whether GM food is bad for you or fat may cause heart diseases, then it is about time to ask the same question about fragrances and things that you inhale.
