After more than a decade of observing many residents in nursing homes and retired people growing old, I come to a conclusion that living a quiet a life at old age accelerates dementia.

While over stress may cause mental and emotional collapse, without it may cause the brain to shut down. To be more precise, overcoming stress provides mental stimulation, which may involve activities requiring coordination and skills in planning and problem solving.

All form of mental and physical activities improves blood flow to the brain, which supplies oxygen to the brain cells essential for cell division, cells growth and prevents plaque-like substance to build-up which clogs the communication highway and suffocates healthy cells.

Commenting on "President Obama bad health message"

Mr President, you set a very bad example in health promotion. Too many Americans are obese; are you hinting that they should follow your diet – burger and chips?

President Obama and his guests for Dinner with Barack enjoyed a laid-back meal including burgers and fries, one of the President’s favourites.

Halal or not, food hygiene comes first!

Commenting on "Halal or not, food hygiene comes first!"

This is a post not restricted to followers of any specific religious belief. I may be ignorant, but I believe that if God is truly a living god, it will not just tell His creation specifically via some prophets not to consume Halal food, pork, cow, etc, but also not to smoke, take hard drugs, drive like idiots on the roads killing innocent people - the evils of modern time.

Food hygiene of yesterday was not a discussion topic, and therefore "rules" were stipulated and must be followed. Now, we understand how food hygiene can affect our health and general wellbeing. However, even knowing food hygiene and strict regulations on food handling and Food Acts, food sellers and consumers just ignore them and take risks in the name of convenience and enjoyment.

The restaurant food may be Halal, but the food handler can conteminate the food in more ways than you can imagine.
